Dani Burke, Author

Archive for August 2012

This week Nicki Elson, author of Three Daves and a local gal (and my niece), interviewed me and posted it on her blog.
Check it out. Her blog is awesome. Also, check out Three Daves. It will bring back all those fun college memories!

All in all, I was very pleased with the signing at Tech Nail. I sold 11 books and received two great leads that I will follow up on. Not only did I have conversations with some really nice ladies, the girls at the shop fed me lunch and were my greatest sales ladies!

I’ve been in touch with the lady who runs the Tuscan Market Book Club. Although they basically only work with two major houses, she agreed to take a look at my book. Can’t ask for more than that! For those of you that are not familiar with Tuscan Market, it is a wonderful wine shop in downtown Arlington Heights. They have good food and you can grab a sandwich, some pizza, and great and unique wines and beers. They also have wonderful meats and fish. Other news! I just heard Palatine Library has my book! A friend told them to order it, they did, and she is the first reader. Happy I can increase readership!

I’ll be signing books at Tech Nail in Lake Zurich Friday and Saturday, August 24 and 25 from 10 am to 4 pm. Come join us!

This week I was able to obtain a contact for Hudson News, which most of you know are the newsstands at major airports, rail stations, etc. Unfortunately their submission guidelines prohibit self-publishing by small publishing houses. Oh well, it was a good thought. We shall forge ahead. Yesterday Windy City Publishing tweeted:
“Congrats to WCP author Dani Burke, whose delightful & compelling novel, “Highway to Love” is now officially published!
What a complimentary tweet…

Dani Burke is now not only on Amazon.com, but back on Barnesandnoble.com and Indiebound.com. If you enjoy the read, please post your comments! I’m working on placement in a smaller bookstore with several locations in the Chicago area!
