Dani Burke, Author

Exciting news! Highway to Love is now available in eBook format (Amazon and Barnes & Noble). Other distribution channels are being added and will be forthcoming. Thanks to all of you who keep urging me to continue to write.

Yes, it has been awhile since I have posted. A book club in Lake Forest is reading my book for their February Valentine read. February 13 I will join the group as they discuss Highway to Love. This will be a first for me and I am looking forward to it. They also are excited to be able to meet the author of one of their reads. As I contemplate book number two, I thought it would be a fun idea to have a contest by asking for suggestions for the name of my next protagonist. My choice of the front runner will receive a copy of Highway to Love to either keep or give as a gift. Wish me luck.

My friend Lauren thought it would be a great idea to record a disc of the songs referenced in Highway to Love. She felt listening to the songs would give the story even more meaning. She made me the soundtrack as my Christmas gift! I just love it. So thoughtful of her.

Book Signing 1Book Signing 3At my company holiday party there was a surprise book signing. Everyone was told to open their gift bag and unwrap the package inside. It was a copy of Highway to Love. They quickly set up a podium and posters and said we were having a book signing! Of course some already had my book, but it was a touching event and so very thoughtful. Dennis met one of my co-workers to give her a box of books. He kept it a secret too!

The date has been set! I will be there Saturday, January 26, from 10 am to 4 pm. I’d love to have some company!

USA Book News honored Highway to Love by naming it one of the four finalists in the 2012 competition (romance category). There were over 100 categories. I did not win but was happy to be one of the four finalists 🙂

This week I spoke with the Director of the Highwood Public Library. Highwood is having a 125 year celebration in January. He suggested the book signing coincide with the celebration. It will be on a Saturday in January. More info to follow.

Rumor has it that some of the girls at Meyer Material have chosen Highway to Love for their book club read. Also, a friend is working on getting me in with the Highwood Library. Need to follow up on a possible book signing there since I am, as most of you know, a Highwood gal. Lastly, I’ve gotten myself posted on the Highland Park High School Class of 1967 blog which has had something like 20,000 hits in the last two years (wish me luck). Let us all wish good luck and send our prayers to those in the path of Sandy…

I received a call last night that Lake Zurich Library has accepted my book. So both Palatine Library and LZ Library carry my novel. Yippee! I’m so excited to increase my readership.
